KARACHI: Two young men sustained serious injuries after being struck by a double-cabin vehicle in Karachi’s Ancholi area. The vehicle is reportedly registered to Syed Zafar Abbas, the head of the JDC Foundation.

Following the crash, a crowd of outraged locals gathered at the scene. The occupants of the vehicle managed to escape in the same car, but in their rush, the number plate detached. This eventually led authorities to identify the vehicle’s owner.

Police sources later confirmed that the vehicle was registered under the name of Syed Zafar Abbas.

Shortly after the incident, Zafar Abbas appeared at the scene. Witnesses alleged that his team tried to prevent people from recording videos and even attempted to take away phones from bystanders.

As per media accounts, Abbas stated that the motorcyclists had been riding without headlights and collided with the car, which was allegedly being driven by an office employee sent out to purchase ice.

Footage captured after the accident has gone viral on social media, showing a tense altercation between Abbas and members of the public.

Hospital officials confirmed that 17-year-old Abdul Ahad is on a ventilator and remains in critical condition. His 19-year-old cousin, Hanif, also sustained injuries but is currently stable. Both are residents of Mohammadi Colony in Azizabad.

Zafar Abbas later assured that the injured victims would receive complete medical care.
